What happens during a bikini wax?
- You keep your underwear on and we fold it back at the edges, or you can use a disposable pair we provide.
- Hard wax only. It sets on the hair and lifts off without a strip, which is the gentlest choice for the crease and the inner thigh.
- A bikini line is a handful of sections and is over quickly. A full bikini takes a little longer because we shape the top as well.
- We finish with a cooling lotion. Any pinkness fades within an hour or two.
How do I prepare for a bikini wax?
- Let the hair grow to about a quarter inch, roughly two weeks after shaving. If it is much longer we trim it first.
- Come in clean, dry skin with no lotion or oil on the area. Deodorant and body sprays can make the wax slip.
- If it is your first wax, take an ibuprofen an hour before if you like. It takes the edge off.
- You can come in on your period. Wear a tampon or a cup and we work around it.
How do I look after my skin afterwards?
- Keep the area cool and dry for the rest of the day: no hot baths, pools, saunas or workouts.
- Wear loose cotton underwear home. Tight or synthetic fabric rubs on freshly waxed skin and causes bumps.
- Begin gentle exfoliation after two or three days and keep it up twice a week to stop ingrown hairs.
- Rebook for four to six weeks out. Regular visits leave the hair finer and each wax easier.
