What happens during a Brazilian wax?
- You'll have a private room and a few minutes to undress from the waist down. We give you a towel and step out.
- We use hard wax for the sensitive areas and strip wax where the skin is tougher. Hard wax grips hair, not skin, so it stings less.
- The whole appointment is short. Most of the time goes to cleansing and prepping the skin, not the waxing itself.
- Ingrown hairs, if you have them, get a gentle exfoliant and we'll tell you how to keep them down between visits.
How do I prepare for a Brazilian wax?
- Let the hair grow to about a quarter inch, roughly two weeks after shaving. Too short and the wax can't grip it.
- Skip lotions and oils on the day. Clean, dry skin gives the cleanest result.
- If you're on your period, you can still come in. Wear a tampon or a cup and we'll work around it.
- Avoid tanning, hot yoga and heavy workouts the day before. Warm, sweaty skin is more sensitive.
How do I look after my skin afterwards?
- No hot baths, saunas, pools or sex for the first day. Freshly waxed skin is open and easily irritated.
- Wear loose cotton underwear home. Friction and heat cause bumps.
- Start gentle exfoliation after two or three days, and keep it up twice a week to prevent ingrown hairs.
- Book your next visit for four to six weeks out. Regular waxing thins the hair and makes each visit easier.

- A bikini line removes hair just outside the underwear line. A bikini wax goes further in, front and sides. A Brazilian removes everything from front to back, with the option to leave a small strip or triangle.
- Does a Brazilian wax hurt?
- The first one stings, especially on the first strip. Hard wax and a quick, practiced hand keep it short. Most clients say it was less than they feared, and it gets noticeably easier after the second or third visit.
- How long does the hair need to be?
- About a quarter inch, which is roughly two weeks of growth after shaving. If it's much longer we can trim it for you before we start.
- Can I get waxed on my period?
- Yes. Wear a fresh tampon or a menstrual cup and we'll proceed as normal. Skin can be a little more sensitive that week, so take an ibuprofen beforehand if you like.
- How often should I come back?
- Every four to six weeks. Hair grows in cycles, and regular visits catch more of it each time, so results last longer and the hair comes back finer.
- Do you take walk-ins for a Brazilian?
- No. We're by appointment only so every client gets a private room and a fresh setup. Booking online takes about a minute.
