What happens during a body wax?
- Hard wax on the underarms and buttocks, strip wax on the chest and stomach where the skin is firmer.
- For underarms we'll ask you to lift your arm overhead and relax. The whole thing takes a couple of minutes per side.
- Chest and stomach hair often grows in swirls, so we work in small sections to follow it.
- Pink skin for an hour or so is normal, especially on the chest.
How do I prepare for a body wax?
- Two weeks of growth is plenty for underarms. Chest and stomach hair can be longer without any issue.
- No deodorant, lotion or oil on the area the day of your visit.
- Exfoliate the day before, gently. It helps the wax reach the hair.
- Wear a loose top and avoid tight waistbands on the way home.
How do I look after my skin afterwards?
- Skip deodorant on freshly waxed underarms until the next morning. A fragrance-free one is kindest after that.
- No hot water, sauna, chlorine or heavy workouts for twenty-four hours.
- Exfoliate twice a week from day three to keep ingrown hairs away.
- Rebook every four to six weeks so regrowth stays soft and sparse.
Common questions about a body wax
- Does underarm waxing hurt?
- It's a sharp sting for a second per section, and the section is small. Hard wax keeps it gentle. Most clients find it easier than they expected, and easier again by the second visit.
- Will waxing lighten the dark shadow under my arms?
- Often, yes. The shadow is usually hair sitting just under the skin after shaving. Waxing removes it from the root, so the skin looks clearer as you keep waxing.
- Can I use deodorant after an underarm wax?
- Wait until the next morning. The skin is open for a few hours and deodorant can sting and cause bumps.
- Can I add underarms to another appointment?
- Yes. Pick both services when you book and the calendar allows time for each. Underarms pair well with legs, arms or a Brazilian.
